These are for me the most powerful and inspiring albums of 2022 so far. They are meticulously delicate pieces of music made for deep listening with eyes closed, when there is nothing but detailed sound, discovering the new and travelling in the mind. This is purely instrumental music genre-wise in the range of ambient, neoclassical music and experimental electronica. I’ll be glad for recommendations of albums in a similar vein that I may have missed.
1. Nils Frahm – Music For Animals
2. Max Richter – The New Four Seasons – Vivaldi Recomposed
3. Peter Knight – Shadow Phase
4. Federico Mosconi – Air Sculptures
5. Kasper Bjørke – Mother
6. Žibuoklė Martinaitytė – Ex Tenebris Lux
7. Adrian Copeland – If This Were My Body
8. Carmen Villain – Only Love From Now On
